Karen Clark's arrival at The Edge Amarillo brings an air of excitement and a wealth of experience spanning nearly half a century. Her illustrious career began in the vibrant dance studios of southern California, where she trained under the expert guidance of Melvin Kaiser and Amos Dance Studio. By the age of 16, Karen was already sharing her passion for dance, teaching in Alhambra and igniting a lifelong journey in dance education.
Decades of Dance in Oklahoma City

Karen's remarkable journey saw her founding and operating a dance studio in the Oklahoma City area for an impressive 45 years. Under her tutelage, the studio not only became a cornerstone in the community but also a launchpad for many aspiring dancers. Her students have achieved commendable success, gracing stages across the United States, from Broadway tours to high-profile pageants like Miss Oklahoma and Miss America. Moreover, many have followed in her footsteps, earning dance degrees, teaching, and opening studios of their own.

A Passion for Tap and Choreography

While tap dancing has been a significant and enduring passion for Karen, her talent extends well beyond. She possesses a particular flair for choreographing musicals. Her portfolio includes classics such as "Oklahoma," "Guys and Dolls," "Annie," "Fiddler on The Roof," and "Music Man," all choreographed for the Mid-Del School District in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
